Hey guys. I just recently got a new computer. With Vista, as I'm sure you could have guessed.

But ever since, I've been getting an error. Both in 1.07 and 1.08. Everytime the server loads a new map, after a round, the game crashes. It's easy to replicate so if you need any info say so.

Edit: Just saw the crash dump thread, my bad for not catching it before I made this, I'll post that in a second.

Edit 2: Okay, sent the crash dump, but since I made this thread and can't delete it, can someone tell me if this is a problem because of vista, something else, if there's a fix, or if it's a known issue? Thanks :D

It's not specifically related to vista, vista can just be a bitch sometimes.

Vista is basically still an open beta at this point, so brace for a maximum of "fuck you" from it.

I've not tried it yet, but I do have a Vista system that I could try it out on. I guess it's one of those things that can be broken by the tiniest differences. I think the crash-dump will be the most useful thing in this situation.

I'm just assuming it's vista since I was running the game on my old computer yesterday, which used XP. I'll try the compatibility thing and see if that changes anything. And I did send a crash dump so hopefully that exposes it.

Okay, I've set the compatibility to Windows XP (Serive Pack 2) and this error nolonger happens. Guess it is a problem with Vista. Sorta figured.

Trust me, I debated it, but in the end it just wasn`t worth getting a new computer that`s DX10 but not getting vista so I can use it (when I can, anyway).

I got Vista Business via MSDN subscribtion. Dual-booting it with XP on my machine, and Empires 1.08 RC12 runs fine for me. I suggest going to the manufacturer's websites of your sound card, video card and motherboard and downloading latest Vista-specific drivers.

Im running Vista; and Empires runs perfectly on it; as well as every other single thing...

So far I had almost no compadability issues besides that of Hamachi...
