Anyone got a good site for removing viruses? I was surfing zeh web when my firewall felt for turning off, allowing a trojan to slip through.
Then my F-secure wanted to save the day, tried to fight the virus, but the trojan changed name and F-secure didn't know what the hell just happened.
F-secure then recommended me to do nothing, I tried again, computer froze.

So now I got a fine little VIRUS REMOVER 2008 at my computer that wants me to buy it just because it knows how to remove every virus in the world (of course, gtfo).
So... Anyone know an anti virus site on how to remove VIRUS REMOVER 2008?

    :)

    Install Virus Remover Remover 2009

Or go into safe mode and do what has to be done.

As long as you have a decent router, the only thing you have to be aware of is what you are downloading and from where. If you keep that in mind, you can clearly say that you don't have a virus.

I checked 4chan for fun, I never go there (and won't again) , missclicked, firewall turned off and bam. :)

Already had Spybot and did a search, not sure what it did but hell.. The virus is gone. Free programs > bought anti virus.

Kaspersky will probably do what you want. Else, safe mode, remove it.

Install KAV, reboot into safe mode w/ networking, scan all your HDs. Kaspersky will PROBABLY find most everything.

If you want a fast AV program, ETrust is pretty decent, and pretty much the fastest one out there.

Safemode is a pretty good way of ensuring you get rid of the pests, but it doesn't always work. I've seen this one really invasive virus that adds a registry key that causes windows to load it into every running application (gee, that was a GREAT idea micro$hit) even in safe mode. Since it did infect every running program, it was easy to tell what the infected files were, which gave me the option of simply removing them while running linux off of a CD.

    Linux is great :|ove:

I use the free version of AVG and it's never let me down. A few weeks ago my college network was infested, every time I came home and put in my USB memory chip AVG freaked out. :D They have Norton on every machine but I guess they don't bother updating it.

Anyhoo, how what website were you on? There are two ways to get a virus I know of. 1. Opening anonymous email attachments (very stupid) or 2. Hanging about on warez sites. Which one was it?

Contrary to popular belief, most warez sites are actually clean.
Its sites like kitty krew and poolisclosed that actually give you more viruses

if you haven't listened to me yet... USE MALWARE BYTES ANTIMALWARE NOW BEFORE ITS TOO LATE!
    it worked for me everytime

I use Avast. They offer a home version for free use. I switched to this after I found out the free McAfee version my college provided was about 2 years out of date.
