Video recording and playback

I was looking into video playback and recording for Empires in hopes to maybe help make some video tutorials.

I tested with registered FRAPS and Source Demo Recorder.

I ran into one issue and that is that My mic voice does not record.
Is this because I am running from my own machine and the voice only works across a separate server?
Anyone know how to get the voice to work in the recording?
Anyone have any solutions for this?

The voice recorder icon appears for the Source recorder and FRAPS, all other sounds work, but I cannot hear my voice. I checked my microphone and it is working. I did a sound record check using windows recorder and everything worked correctly.

 

You cannot hear your voice, only others can. Sorry!

 

Ok I figured it out.

Console:

voice_loopback 1

this enables you to hear your own voice, and the source recorder does record it. Drawbacks are that you hear yourself talking.
However it does record and will allow for easy video tutorials!!! :D

 

If you let it loopback you better have the sound come out of the headset. Feedback hurts lol.
