    Hello everyone.
I'm experiencing a bit of a problem trying to play Empires 2.25.

Every time I try to start up the game, a little window appears that says 'steam is verifying your game files', with a loading bar that automatically jumps straight to 100%.

Afterwards, it simply tells me that the game files were successfully verified, and that the steam servers are simply "too busy to handle my request."

In an attempt to remedy the problem, I went onto google and searched for a solution. I've tried reinstalling the game, reinstalling steam, deleting everything in the steam folder except the steam application and the steammaps folder and renaming my clientregistry.blob

Some websites suggested that right-clicking on the game in my game library on steam, going into properties, and from there going to 'local files' and verifying the game files manually would make the game work. However, I notice that Empires does not have a 'local files' submenu, which makes this solution a bit difficult to implement.

If anyone out there can help, I would greatly appreciate it.

You cant actually verify empires itself because the steam servers have nothing to check it against. Verify Source SDK Base 2007, test it, if it still doesn't work reinstall empires.
