Hello, Fishstick and myself where talking in spec just now and came up with a pretty good idea. 1. Unrestricted vehicle mode remains the same. Free for all vehicle building. 2. Restricted vehicle build mode now pops up asking the com if they are allowed to build. Popup would include Player name, vehicle requested, Cost (Cost-Wages), and Yes/No. Maybe with a 30 sec life so you don't have to hit no all the time. Maybe something like the map vote in viper server? 3. Wage built vehicles would not be affected. This would allow arty to be used more sucessfully as the com could control the ratio of atry vs other vehicles. As a side note it could also cut down on jeep griefing, and resource griefing. I think its a great idea, and would defanitly open up arty as a usable option when I com. If there are any suggestions or refinements please post.
31 players requests to build a jeep, sure is fun i think a simple system where you can restrict so you can buy with wages only is sufficient ... ... comms shouldnt have too much power over this or with some newbies will never be able to build tanks at all pissing them off quickly
I would the satisfied, if commander had more options in restricting the VF. Code: [X]Restrict VF | |__Restrict only the following: [X]Jeep [ ]APC [X]LT/AFV [X]Medium Tank [ ]Heavy Tank [ ]Artillery Tank
Basically, when we get round to redoing it (It'll require GUI work, so it's on the "when we redo the GUI" list), then it'll be like what w00kie has there.
Chassis-based restriction? It's good to hear (read) maybe in later times I will more likely to command a battle.
can we have an armor restriction too? so in late game the comm can restrict paper so no retard builds cheap tanks cause they are impatient. Also useful in case the comm wants to restrict certain armors so that the team uses one armor that is effective on the main weapons the other team is using. so if the other team has rails the comm can restrict composite or whatever and get absorb used.
What w00kie posted is actually what I had in mind. Armor restriction is a nice idea too, but instead of restricting plain armor, I think it should be removed after another armor is researched.
Not always. If the enemy has bio, and we have bio, I'll put plain on my jeep, so I take less bio damage, rather than regen. And as there's no plates, it pays off.
Unless something changed, I don't think that's correct. Armor doesn't change hull resist. Plain Health: 30 Bio: 150% Regen Health: 75 Bio: 200%
Okay, just tested that. How long has that been in and why? And does it effect all vehicles with and without plates? Edit: Nevermind. It's just the Bio resist. That is interesting though, thanks for sharing.
Probably been in since the start of resists. I don't think it's so bad... You should try composite jeeps. :D
