I understand they aren't firing from the center but at the same time they don't seem to be firing where the tracers draw either. Moving targets seem impossible to hit unless they are running at you. Granted they die in a clip while moving, it is still a whole clip on one guy. I would switch to gunner and shoot if the hitboxes of the vech didn't block my fire. Ultimately it just seems that infantry bullets seem much more accurate than vech bullets. I remember the MG used to be pin point, and it really was over powered I rocked with it, but at least have the bullets go where the tracers draw. O and they are both hit scan right? Like infantry and vech bullets are hit scan? The cannons, if I put it to a guys face it explodes but the bullet, nah.
Alright, well then is anyone else having these issues? Maybe I could have a interpolation script run when I enter a vech if it is jsut me.
It's just a lag issue, so yes, lead your targets, like in any FPS game. unless your ping is <100 (and even if it is) you can't aim right at a moving target.
I mean yeah, you gotta spray at infantries anyway, and at full deflection any amount of lag will make it harder. The vech mgs are less accurate that infantry rifles, rightfully ofc. Pull it together pollo.
Wait, the MGs aren't lag compensated? "Any FPS" is a bit misleading seeing as one of the basic points of the HL engine netcode (and therefore CS, the most popular FPS ever) is instant client feedback with lag compensation.
There was quite a bit of talk when tracers were introduced about accuracy. Last I heard, they're just an effect, and not coded to be accurate.
Vehicles are bigger and slower than infantry, so the lack of lag compensation is generally not a problem for vehicle vs vehicle combat, and in return you get a more accurate representation of the physics interactions that vehicles have.
