Ive seen some strange errors in HL1 valve and HL2 valve but what on earth does this mean if anyone knows how to get round this, id love to hear it, thanks
Well first since this is in the mapping section I'm going to assume you are talking about Hammer, which is a level design tool, and not Valve, which is a corporation. Second, you need to refresh the SDK content.
i normally call it valve, most understand -- but sorry for the vagueness, yea hammer. Refreshing -- how do i do that?
thanks alot for the suggestion solokiller, but it has not worked -- im getting the exact same error the only thing that may be causing it is : i deleted the other games from the drop down menu [i.e Half-life 2] ect on the configs page, which left it with one option, empires. and if i didnt take them out it would revert back to selecting Half-life2 even though i told it to start as empires. may this be causing it?
Different version is already in use. Just try reinstalling SDK, and then don't remove the default configurations. If it won't start up in empires when they are there, deleting them won't have solved the problem that was already there. Just a side thought... what does FS stand for? >_> thought of something that goes really well if it's referring to steam.
but it did solve the problem, i can now map with the empires config -- before when they were in the list i could not keep it to stay on empires, it was fubard
FS stands for Filesystem, which is the system that loads content. It is supposed to load 215, the standard episode 1 engine. I would suggest checking to see if the engine is set to episode 1, and if that won't fix it, remove gameconfig.txt from the following place: Code: Steam\steamapps\accountname\sourcesdk\bin\ep1\bin Then re-add Empires, and make sure it's correct.
thank you very much, ill try to make an attempt -- cant say im fully sure i know what to do on the first bit but ill give it a go, thanks alot
