Unofficial UK/European 1.08 RC Download Mirror Hi Guys, I'm now making public what some of the BSID guys have been using for a while which is a more geographically closer mirror server for downloading the Empires 1.08 RCs. This has been done in the effort that many UK/European players (mostly BSID'ers) over the past months have been reporting slow download speed, so caching them on a server more local appears to of really work out for us so now i'm making this available to any one that reads this thread. Naturally this service will be governed by Krenzo's wishes, so may be removed at any time, hopefully Krenzo will get back to me in time to clarify this service's "official" status. <http://www.bsid-clan.com/downloads/> PS: An "md5sum" file is available for those that no what to do with one.

He has said he got it from the interface name for your nic card in linux. It's also an interface name on Cisco routers.
yeah, in linux (at least Ubuntu) it's Eth 0 (Ethernet zero) and additional NICs are Eth 1 and Eth 2 etc Also I've seen Etho spell his name EthΘ, which is pronounced Ethth

Glad to help out; The RC16 currently uploaded is the alleged borked one so i'll be waiting on Krenzo to upload a patch one. Unfortunately it appears he did get or respond to my PM regarding this little download service of mine for the Euro players so i'll have to rely on somebody telling me when new patches are ready for mirroring.
I've replaced the slight borked RC17 on the mirror server with the newer RC17 that includes the recent APC/Engi hotfix. For those that got the original RC17, a smaller "hotfix_for_the_original_RC17.zip" is also available.
