Hey guys, I recently got a new PC and tried to download and run Empires (from steam) and whenever I try to run it it simply says "Game is unavailable, Please try again later". It used to run fine on my old PC and I've tried all the usual stuff of verifying game cache, uninstalling and reinstalling it to find it the same. Thanks in advance. Yeah vbulletins search is horrible. Id rather go spam someone in irc to find me something on this forum... Back to topic: Delete clientregistry.blob (while steam is off) and log into steam again. Also try joining a game over the server browser.
Deleted clientregistry.blob (while off steam), changed download region and yes other source games/mods work fine. Still doesnt work even when launching from server browser. P.S. I did everything in those threads even though they were for older versions, and I only made a new thread because I thought it might be an issue with the steam download.
you should have mentioned that you tried. im sorry, i didnt mean to be rude ... guess youll have to wait for some dev to drop by - but they usually are fast with replying
It's been a few days and I've tried all sorts of things such as downloading, redownloading, validating and the like, aswell as searching through google and the steam forums with no help. Just wondering if anyone else has any suggestions as I really need my empires fix.
Close steam, go to your steam/steamapps folder and delete the three empires gcfs empires_base, empires_scripts and empires_binaries. Also delete clientregistry.blob and appupdate.blob in the steam base folder, start steam again log in and download empires again.
