It's made by Hi-Res studios. Given what a disappointment and flop Global Agenda was, and also the fact I've never played Tribes, and that they're making it Free to play, which is horrible, It looks like a good idea that's going to be totally massacred.
So on their mainpage they have words like "pre order beta access" and "receive 800 Tribes Gold" they fucked the franchise harder than Vivendi.
If it's bad, if it sucks, if they dare harm the franchise more than it has been... I shall give them no money, and shall not play the game, and shall write them a nasty e-mail.
Tribes isn’t supposed to be a fucking MMO style game, the deciding factor in who keeps on skiing and who gets their face blow off by a disk isn’t your fucking weapons. "Hurr durr, i got a gun with goldz now i am harder to beat." It’s a fucking skill based game. More skill= more win. If this is as bad as I’m expecting it to be, I’m going to stay in Tribes 2.
Looking at the videos from QuakeCon it looks like it's still about the style-points, and it has all the awesome weapons like mortar and spinfusor, which is the important thing, but the free-to-play model seems to have everyone on edge.
Half of the CTF maps suck(there's 2), can't be fucked to play more after seeing all you get with microtransactions. As in I'm not spending 50 rounds as the soldier/ranger EDIT: This sums up my feelings about the current state of the game
Received my invitation to closed beta, haven't played yet since servers are down. I got two beta keys with it does anyone want them?
Never played any Tribes, and I haven't played this yet, but I've got the beta and 2 keys for anyone who wants them.
