Is it possible to make every class start with 0 ammo/do a weaponstrip on them and then give them a weapon? I just came up with a rather silly idéa for a map, and want to test it..

You might be able to use HL2's weapon stripper entity, but why

But can I add a weapon, to the player after they have spawned?

    Call it a test.

if you want melee combat only, make a small server with the melee maps, and mod the scripts to remove all but wack damage.

Is there a way to make a particular map run a particular set of scripts on the server?

I don't believe so, but each map does have a configuration file that sets any map specific things, such as emp_escort's all research, then unresearching nukes.

I've been trying to see if there was a way to trick the game into executing a file that changed which script folder it looks for or uses, but I can't find anything. Just wondering if you knew something I didn't.

But doing that in a cfg file and doing it in a script files are both things I've been playing with.

maps can fire off server commands, so I'd have thought that you should be able to do that - have a look on the valve developer community wiki thing for it and you may get lucky

The scripts' positions are hardcoded, nothing you can change about that.
