Ok i was just thinking about smoke spamming at servers which causes lags and annoys players especially the ones with very slow PC or high ping so i suggest to create a Thrown some grenades limit (It makes your smoke grenades limited)With a limit smokes cant be spammed by a single player anymore just like ok mines. POS:NO more spamming smokes grenades,less lag and no more annoying smokes all over district. CONS:Limited Smokes,Removes last thrown smoke if reached limit(Like mines) Alternates:Less smoke ammo, Smokes doesnt stay longer at field.
Better idea. Remove Smokes Pros: No more smokes Cons: Ounin will bitch because he's a scunt Alternates: Gas smokespammers IRL.
I've never seen a squad under any circumstances ask for smoke, let alone require it. And ninjas are grens, moron.
Of course not, smoke would just pop out of random. What I mean is, ninja is used against the commander, and smoke kinda draws the commanders' attention towards that point.
Smokes can be pretty useful, tactically. Putting a smoke in front of a friendly level3 can make it all but invincible since nobody can see it to take it down. Throwing a smoke inside an enemy rax can limit the abilities of the people spawning in it and deny the enemy an organized defense long enough to take it down. Throwing a smoke at enemy engies hiding behind walls and healing each other will prevent them from healing each other or effectively doing anything until they get out of the smoke. Smokes can be useful and can add a lot to the game whether people use them or not. But the main problem with smokes, and concussions for that matter, is they affect your team as much as the enemy. You can sit and spam smokes or concs in your own base, pretty much greifing your team, and if you do it right they wont even know it was you. I think a limit on them would be nice as I can't stand stuff like that especially because I am one of those people who lags to hell when looking at smoke and things like that. I still think it would be a shame to remove them though, but possibly they should not be the scout's default grenade.
I don't know about you, but the smoke is ~70% transparent to me when i'm not inside it. I'm against the suggestion in this thread since i love spamming smoke on district. And i do not receive any lag from the smoke.
did they fix smoke? for quite a while smoke didnt really obscure vision unless you where inside it (grey sceen of doom). so it was pretty much useless ... edit: yes what cloud said :D
As much as I'm a scunt, I think smokes are pretty useless, so I use concussion grenades. Smoke grenades should render scouts within the smoke as 'hidden' to turrets (opposite function of concussions) and all units as obscured to attack orders and camera pinging.
