A work still in progress. hopfully, I'd like to have it as a scene at the title menu instead of the static pic, with BE officers walking back and forth. I want it to function as those animated scenes on the HL2 menu. I'm hoping also to complete a NF assembly line scene at the Raven Arms factory in Glycen City so the game could choose a random scene on every restart. The thing is - i'm very busy at work these days and the time i have free(and that im not wasting on gaming ) is scarce so stuff takes time. please share with me what your thoughts about the idea and about this humble begining. I think it's an awesome idea. ove: While it won't add anything to the gameplay, it will give the mod a bit of badly needed polish. How big a hit will loading times take though?
Menu would take longer to load, first level would take less time to load due to much precaching occuring during menu load.
a togglebox added to the menu and this would be fucking awesome dont bitch it, i hereby crown myself as the godfather of this project if ya bitch at it, imma gon get ya imma gon get ya good :devil: :devil: suggestion: change the degree of vieuwing a little so you dont have the hallway so far needed and make the hallway "wider" so more npc's can walk it (or at least it will look more spacious) but the room needs to be less big in total exaggerated example image
I should note though that given the size of the menu levels, it really shouldn't be a noticeable difference. Most of the loading would have to be done anyway sooner or later, and if you have a decent computer you probably won't even notice the difference.
not sure. im just a humble modeler, questions like that one should be directed to a tech-wiz like one of the root admins. If I were to guess i'd say none at all because this should be (if at all) a part of a Client update, but again- im just speculating.
I would love to see brenodi Soldiers walk around there, maybe talking to each other, and maybe if u wait some minutes u see a NF light tank driving trough the hallway roadkilling everyone :D just a suggestion for easter-egg
I would like to see the hallway used for something entertaining... Maybe BE riflemen.. beating hooded NF scouts... or BE grens urinating on the corpse of a heavily bruised NF engineer.
totally do this I suppose it depends on how long your loop of animations will run though, but this would be epic, and you could reset the loop after it.
well, actually i was thinking more in the way of an easter egg for xmas or so when be engies are walking the hallway and an NF santa(red) runs through the hallway and mow them down with a hvy machine gun, shouting ho ho ho hahaha ho ho ho. or smthn...
