nope opposite of that 3-4foward 1-2backward depending on type of tank and its weight but some older tanks using diesel engines had much more especialy WW2 heavy tanks that were using weak engine sorry for OT
I think I already said this in this topic. The weights need some tweaking because there's so much annoyingly small overweight cases. The weight goes over the max limit by 2-10 and then you have 20 units spare space which you can't use to anything. Also I agree with others. I would like to have other armors on my vehicles too than just composite. If you use for example, reflective armor on BE tank and have two HE cannons on it, it can't have more than 2-3 armor plates. That's same amount as light tank with std cannon. Little tweaks and I think we're good.
Mr Weedy: about composite: I think that's a feature because you can adjust direction of your tank to enemy and take less damage (reflective's angle modifier). Composite is expensive "plain" armor with high health.
I didn't read what I had written. What I meant is that it's normal that you can put more composite armor because it's plain (with bigger health). Reflective allows you to reduce damage (I was hit by nuke and it took out 1 plate) so you don't need that many plates as composite.
RC 21 released: http://forums.empiresmod.com/showthread.php?t=3239 Weight upped on LT: +30, AFV: +20. You should be able to mount a cannon and MG without losing significant ammounts of armor. With 3 weapons on the LT you should have 4 plates to play with. Continue comments etc.
LTs are now really useful against medium BE tanks. You can use both SC and ML in one tank that has decent armor.
LTs = Light Tanks Means, Lighter vehicles. Lighter vehicles are faster than heavier. At least they accelerate more with the same amount of power put into them than heavier vehicles. So in my opinion LTs and AFVs should be at least as fast as medium tanks.
My final thoughts on the new armor system is that it's a great addition, and adds some much needed depth to the old 'buy heavy, put 6 layers of armor and nuke on it' tank wars system. I have at least 2 variants for each tank type for an independent role :D
But aren't you supposed to be in a fucking tank? Or is there some sort of intended weapon triangle here?
Which is better at hunting tanks, an M1A1 Abrams or an M3 Bradley? Likewise, which is better at killing infantry in tight quarters? Tanks in themselves are designed for different roles, that is what is simulated here.
With this new system there is actualy a point to the weight; the lighter armors have now been ressurected... All in all a good move and direction
I think this new system is a step in the right direction. Some tweaking is definitely required, but it's closer to the whole idea of trading armor for firepower.
The primary issue is that the only light armor is composite. Every other kind of armor has so few plates its not worth it compared to composite. W/ Composite: 6 plates on all sides and front, 5 plates on back. 2 HE cannons, and a Medium CG in BE heavy. W/ Regen/absorbant: 3 sides, five front, two rear with same weapons configuration. Its obvious which tank is superior.
it all depends on what you're going to face.. If its bio I'd say composite if it's HE or something Regen is better..
