due to the talk in the suggestion forum, i was thinking it would be interesting to know what the most ideal skill system was in your opinion for clarification, im talking about the infantry skill system just write it down (short but detailed) how it would work, you dont have to write down the skills usable or whatever you dont want to talk about, just talk about the parts you think are important
I like the new idea that's been floating around. Having a pool of skill points, you gain and lose skill points based on what skills you add and remove. I'd like to see an unlimited ceiling for max amount of skills with this. Also support Trickster's idea for cross-class skill purchasing for increased cost(did trickster say it?). With exclusions of hide, defusal and engineer calc skills.
my ideal system would be something like this basically keep everything the same, but less skill slots and all skills are a bit tuned here and there to lean more to preform diversity in stead of being more powerful for any class not scout, the first 2 could be a combination skill, being in something not in the nature of a normal skill, but proving a new feat as in a passive skill, or an active ability, some can even be one of those unbalance able skills, making them require you pick 2 "lesser" skills for the scout, the first 2 could be one of those combined skills
the first 2 slots of the class can be combined to give an additional new skill that gives you a SMALL positive attribute that can be active or passive. basically, combining skills to make a "new" skill. its kind of like mixing runes in a weapon to make some "unique" attribute in that weapon in an RPG type of a game. its intention is to give players a sense of uniqueness and choices, since people love to have choices and feel unique. basically, its a disguise for creating new skills but utilizing a different system. the order in which you select your skills will determine what "new" skill you will get. I THINK :S... i dont really know what blizz really meant haha.
perhaps we should ask why people stop playing empires.. and try to fix those issues that the people have in common =S
The main reason is that the game is decided in the first 3 minutes. Then it's just another 45 minutes of suffering.
only thing this shit needs always has to be put off because of some GUI overhaul that the devs have been using as an excuse(not saying it's a bad one), but I think the drop down should be changed to tabs.
- Every 10 points a player could spend 1 skill point in a tree of each point. Each tree maxing out at the benefit it gives in the current version. HP upgraded 3 times still gives 30hp or w/e it currently is. Of course this only applies to appropriate skills such as HP upg, Melee upg, turret upg etc. Not sure yet what to do with other skills, but just a quick thought.
