    How about the Griefers are genetically engineered to be super-intelligent Coms, but an error in the coding results in bouts of manic depression. Hence the driving of the CV into water, into craters, etc... See the Blood Angels backstory from Wh40k if you want more.

    the blood angels are not emos, they just have a different system to pass on their gene code...
