http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/technology/6425927.stm "Imagine if some people treat androids as if the machines were their wives," Park Hye-Young of the ministry's robot team told the AFP news agency. Now, a quiery: would you ever put your brain in a robot body? You'd never get old, or sick... you know, skippers, your robot body would be the perfect man: handsome, strong...
Some of these predictions don't seem to hold any real bearing. Like how people thought we'd have colonies on the moon and stuff by now
That's only because the US government stopped spending obscene amounts on the space programme after the end of the cold war.
There was an episode of Sealab 2021 where all they did was talk about putting your brain in a robot body.
For robots to demand thier own rights they would have to be self aware, I dont see a computer becomeing self aware...
erm... asimoc wrote i-robot. the film, though i recon was awesome, isn't like the book, but that bit is in both of them.

WTF? No, my robots don't get fuckin rights. Thats pointless. They aren't living things. If i want, i can turn it off. Anything that i can turn off doesnt get rights, because its just a moving object. My coffee machine doesnt get rights, does it? No! And, also, the Necrons in the Warhammer 40K series are really just robots with the soul of a Necrontyr implaneted into them. It dulls their senses, and their creativity and such.
The penalty.. for a robot harming a human would be a thousand years...... FROZEN IN CARBONITE. But you'd be only five feet tall. Haha I have the first season dvd, need to get the 2nd and 3rd >> I miss cap'n'murphy -=( the real voice actor died ; ; 2003...
