Today (check steam group) we'll have hopefully last playtest. Everyone should download installer from: http://empires.theowningone.info/Setup.exe Move 2.24d somewhere else before installing this. If it works I'll just make server installers, upload them and we'll have a release.
Get as many people to join the test because this one matters a lot. It'll be a long playtest you don't have to join at the exact time.

Just to make things clear: For testing tonight we dont need to update the SVN, just get the link above installed? The setup above overrides Empires 2.24d if you don't move it to another folder?
It overrides 2.24 if you don't move it. We are only using files from this installer (700MB). Empty: installer was done from current SVN. Concs use HE effects, if you make better one we can use them.
since its all from the current SVN will you be able to join the test without downloading the installer?
Concs don't need an effect, they're a flash grenade, if you're looking at them you're blind, if you aren't, the effect is so short it doesn't matter.
MOOtant: Are the current balance scripts fixed for 2.25? (I would call the new version 2.3, because there are much more changes then from 2.23 to 2.24) All the other things can be balanced in later versions but these things should be solved before releasing the final version: As long as the function of the angle modifier for reflective armor is not clear we shouldn't release a version with a value of 1.0. Change it to a value between 0.5 and 0.75. Also 60 damage for the plasma cannon will allow effective BE Plasma+Bio engine heavy tanks by using the overheat exploit. And is the scout rifle reload exploit fixed?
Download the installer, dont' worry about the svn, we are testing the installer not what's on the svn.
That is a terrible excuse for leaving it like that. this is just contributing to all sorts of empires metagame metaphysics nuanced nonsense which makes the game read poorly to new players.
It shouldnt be capped, I've never had an issue downloading or uploading to it. Is anyone else having cap issues? EDIT: What do?
I downloaded it, (had no cap issues) and installed it (moved my old Empires folder first) but am getting "Server Uses Different Class Table" issues...
Tanks? Not balanced, we'll live with it though. I'd like to think my infantry are balanced though. I agree with the reflective modifier point. Making it 30 damage makes plasma useless. If you actually played the fucking SVN you'd know that was fixed months and months and months ago.
I guessed as much, but my 2.24 refuses to connect to the master server now x_X I guess the fix is renaming my "Empires 2.24" folder back to "Empires", deleting /moving 2.25 and keeping the installer for when 2.25 is necessary.
