Just thoughts about adding more tank chassis. Turretless Tank: To attack has to turn the whole gun (like artillery but could move side to side only abit like 15-30 degrees max.) Has a chassis of it's own. Good vs Enemy tank in confined areas. Weak vs Large areas and Infantry Cost less, cheaper Extra cannon slots but no MLs or MGs (Maybe 1 mg slot to mediums and heavies) E.g Light Turretless Tank = 2 cannonslots but no Mgs or Mls E.g Medium Turretless tank = 2-2 or even just a 3 cannonslots but 1 mg slot so a medium turretless can carry a rail for e.g. And thats all. More tanks looks cooler and probaly funner. Others Notes: Don't think HE should damage tanks alot. Should do more damage vs Infantry and Buildings. Standard MG too accurate and has lots of damage (Auto Sniper) why is standard mg better than chaingun and cost/weight less?
I think the devs thought about that but without more 3D people you will not see new chassis soon. Yes the 3std mg is the cheapest weapon in empires and it will not stay as it is as far as i know. Yes HE is overall better than any other tank cannon, even with rails you go better if you mix some he tanks in between.
2.2 will enable individual unit type damage, read, different weapons will harm structures infantry and tanks at varying levels, so HE will probably end up like that. Although HE shells are danagerous to pretty much everything in real life anyway
not so basically. tank destroyers are a ripoff from WW2. and were seen in many games. it isnt a bigger ripoff as the APC or medtank.
honestly, it can only hold 1 rail, how is that a tank destroyer? do you mean because its on the tank destroyer chassis, that its given extra dps or something? im confused to the fact that it only has 3 cn slots.
you dont need another chassis, if you want a high damage cannon with no turret movement just put another turret on the existing chassis.
is that a trenchwheel? they actually built one of those??? this is madness... i thought hey only existed on paper and where the step up to normal "pre-tanks"! also the jachttiger would be of no use in empires in my humble opinion, its basically a tank that needs range to operate at its best as far as my knowledge goes, and empires is still 90% close combat, and 10% really close medium combat between tanks

You know, that thing just gave me a bright idea for a new gamemode.... Think about it, Just like escort, but instead of 7 dual rail heavys, theres one MASSIVE tank, that also acts as a spawn for the entire BE team, with 4 gunners and a driver, basicly a slow moving(not too slow) grounded B-17 with 3x the armor, there could be softpoints on the tracks, of course the tracks have 10 layers of regen armor on them, theres 4 "tracks" to destroy, once 2(or 4?) are destroyed the big beast stops for 30-60 seconds to rebuild, and the track armor will be instantly rebuilt and it continues on rolling. OR instead of a driver for it, it could just be a massive moving tank with gunner seats, and its stuck on a set path, obviously no turrets could be built on the path, this thing would go threw ammo boxes. stickies do half damage to tracks. pros: awesome gamemode that we will most likely never see. cons: modelling, mapping, coding, texturing(also modelling) basicly every reason that it won't be put in any time near empires 4.0 note:the reason I posted it here, was because I would rather not waste a thread on something that would never be implemented.... SOON!
And the german tank destroyer/assault guns of world war 2. Oh and the existing turretless tanks in real life. So more like ripping off real life and/or any game which has ever been made based on real life, which to be honest I think is excusable. Also if you don't incorporate ideas because they've been in other successful games, you probably aren't going to be able to make a good game, because almost everything has been done before and everything good has been done in a successful game. I mean empires has a lot of similarities to natural selection but you don't seem too worried about 'ripping off' NS. Oh yes and one other thing, the artiller chassis for both sides is an ideal tank destroyer model, just give it some special anti-tank cannons and remove the pitch restrictions while using them, and add in a small amount of yaw. I did suggest this before but nobody paid attention.
That big tank that you have to destroy is like that mode of BF2142 dunno the name i never really played that game But yeah why not could be fun.
