This was a bug in 1.071 as well. It has only happened to me in LTs. When driving forward and firing forward, instead of shooting a cannon shell, it kills my front armor. Its as if I was driving so fast I caught up with my own shell and it hurt me.
Yeah, I've had this happen several times. But it's worse in 1.08 cuz I don't hear explosion sounds when my tank takes damage anymore, so I may end up blowing myself up. There's a bug reported in the bug tracker about shooting rockets while in moving jeeps causing the rocket to blow up immediatly after firing, causing MASSIVE DAMAGE! Same bug.
This occurs when you are driving fast, and shoot a shell forward. When you shoot the shell, it comes out of your cannon slower then you are zooming and it hits you, and it hurts a lot. Never knew of a missile doing this.
They do. Somehow, though, you manage to move far enough in a single tick that the shell gets fired from within your vehicle. I guess?
Well today's tanks are already able to do that... So why empires tanks be restricted? Shooting a shell while moving could increase or decrease its range... Which you could use to your advantage to bombard far away bases with only a standard cannon...
A tank hitting itself while driving is seriously annoying, and aggravates the laws of physics to no end.
This is already in effect (increase range, depending on your angle), aslong as it at doesnt explode against your own tank when it leaves the barrel.
