Looking great so far. I've added a link to the setting up hammer guide at the top.

I've made a few more changes, hope you don't mind. Mostly just grammar and spelling corrections, but some additions for how to control the views more effectively and things like that.

You've also missed out how to texture the ground. I've added a placeholder at 6.5, which is where I think it would logically go best.

Finnaly! Now I can start working on my first little Empires map!

Would you mind doing a section on how to place buildings that can be built by an engie later on in the guide? (Such as the wooden walls on Escort/Duststorm or the towers in [MValley?].)

I'll write up a seperate guide for this if you want, give me an hour.

EDIT: Forty minutes later... There aren't any screen shots, but the whole thing is quite self-explanatory.

well have you put in the point about having... "solid on spawn ENable/Disable" and a little guide on the I/O system linked to it. asthat caught me out and i had to post on the forums... but its good that were gettiong the wiki set up nicely... : )

I'm not really sure what you mean by this. Solid on spawn is for when the object respawns after being destroyed, isn't it?

The I/O system I would leave for a later guide, possibly under a seperate 'advanced section', as it's not essential for a basic working implementation.

Looks fine. A few grammatical things, but the content was spot on (other than when you said that the white texture would not compile; it should do, but it'll look fugly).

You forgot to add in the parts about copying another maps res file so that you can actually run the map, not crash. I finnally learned how to map for Empires and i'm not half bad when my maps aren't giving me the cannot find map error.
