Dunno if this is possible, but it would be neat if, as you gain ranks, you unlock armor and engines (possible chassis and weapons to, tho imo only up to meds or something as heavy or arty on that map seems like overkill) maybe something along the lines of: 1st rank Bio Diesel - 2nd Absorbant - 3rd 3phase + reactive - 4th Coolant + Reflective or Reactive - 5th Medium tanks - 6th HE (Bio(might be to powerful )) Upg ml/homing/guided Dunno, about medium chassis tho, might be a bit to powerful aswell, but maybe add like an engine every other level and new armor on the rest... But on the other hand, meds would be a way to end the map once it has dragged on for a bit. Thoughts? Edit: Forgot to mention: DAMN nice map, looking forward to this the most out of all the new maps tbh
its a nice idea (although I'd rather see whole research trees unlocked, i.e. Biology/Physics etc) but Krenzo would need to code this before a mapper could make use of it.
then people would be assigned to point collecting to unlock things. like two people one jumping off a building and killing them selfs while another revs.
you can't revive a suicide. If you can, then you shouldn't get points for it. reguardless, I don't think anybody or any team is going to waste time and players in "harvesting"
i think this will just give people more reason to sneak over and kill the VF quickly.. i hate when that happenes especially on Canyon.. maybe if they use this idea they can also make the VF's be invinciable
You know, the VF's could be made re-buildable. There could be like a 1 minute penalty for losing it, then it would reappear as an emp_eng_map_model, with the same health as the building normally has. Once built, it removes itself and spawns another real VF. This is what I'm doing in an upcoming map of mine, if I can figure out the death outputs for buildings.
A point_template that respawns it would be the best solution for the moment, until an entity is added (and i'm not saying it will be added, suggest it if you want it).
Well, if you don't protect it you deserve to loose it, tho rushing and destroying the enemy VF would be harder on glycen then on canyon....
i gotta disagree with you here.. canyon has many stages of turrets that should make your tank weak on the way to kill it and then when one is down you have a backup VF.. and on glycen(and i have done this almost everytime i played this map) you can just walk or sneak on by people and kill the VF without breaking a sweat
Yes, and that tells us they suck and therefor deserve to lose their vf :D I mean, come on, all you rally need is a couple of mg turrets and a camera , if you still lose it... well look above. Having a rebuildable vf COULD work, but imo 1 minute until it is buildable is WAY to fast, make it 5min or something otherwise you might aswell make it invulnerable
yeah, possibly even 10 mins. something that says "we've lost our VF, so for the next large section of the game we're fighting on foot." would also make people protect their VF a lot.
Would it be possible to put in little flags on the minimap to show the res points? I have no idea where most of them are :p
