Currently people can continously spam i need repairs etc and its really really irritating and seems to happen a lot. Surely i dont need to lay out the pro's and cons of this or even a solution, its pretty self explanatory. Thankyou.
I do do that and so do most people. Its too much to have someone continuously saying i need repairs which is what is possible right now.
Of course, i was thinking that perhaps you can fire off three or four pretty quickly but then it would take longer to be able to do just one again if you see what i mean. But if thats what possible to implement then it would do.
make calling for a heal take down your health cause you are using the last of your strength to call for help >_> or have ti take down stamina
I got a better idea: make you only able to make such requests ONCE until you are healed/get ammo/etc. (make the game detect that kind of thing), and the minimap will show your location as what you need, instead of when you are looked at/seen by friendlies).
the problem is if i am right behind (or even in front) of an engi and i call for heal and he doesnt heal me i get pissed off (and i dont think my mic works and typing always an option). so until you somehow make it more obvious of who needs healing, dont change a thing.
If we need aircraft, god damn I will shout it to the heavens until they come. Engineers need a more HUD involved means of getting information. Like icons on places besides the minimap.
Hell, if I call for repairs I wouldn't mind if it dropped my armor to 0 and my vehicle's hull to 1 hp, so long as an Engineer arrives promptly. (Maybe there's a secret to be learned here about customer service.)
screw the minimap option. seriously...I barely even used that thing for the first 6 months of playing this game, rarely ever used as infantry ever anyway. I'll spam as much bloody heal calls as is necessary and if the engineers are too damned stupid/lazy/ignorant/stupid/stupid then it's their own fault if they're annoyed by the spam. Like i've said before, it's a lot of the players who are makin this mod fail as it is, not the game itself :/
Why not have it automatically calling, or automatically putting an icon above the heads of people who need healing, or who's vehicles are bleow 50% health, or are half way through their last clip of ammo?
Yeah what about when most of the engineers are either miles away or too busy to help ? There are actually perfectly sensible situations where you might need to wait a couple of minutes for someone to arrive and spamming in their ear is just going to piss people off. I honestly thought this was a no brainer, i swear some people just disagree for the sake of it sometimes.
problem is, if you say it once or twice and no one heals you and the engineers are a bit far away, they might think youve already been healed/repaired and not bother coming. this is usually what happens anyway.
Well if the limitation on spamming was sensibly imposed you would easily be able to recall for help in a sensible amount of time once you realised noone was coming without pissing everyone off.
Why even bother using it a second time? If they don't respond after you stand forlorn in front of the engineer with a heal icon over your head for thirty seconds and they still decide it's more fun to go repair that ml turret, it's just more fun to waste a ticket (or an 800 res tank). You can never hear the audio commands over the people on voice chat anyway.

Voice chat doesnt always cover it, thats just stupid.
actually thats my whole point when i spam this shit. To annoy the fuck out of someone enough that they come repair me to shut me up. Man's gotta do what a man's gotta do...
