You honestly haven't seen the legendary "Well, this just sucks..." thread by Gabe Newell in the Halflife2.net forums. It grew about 5 pages per minute. The thread was about HL2's source code being stolen.
Hey, sorry I am not updating much, that boot that I made got me some paid freelance CG work :D, got to make a couple of football boots in Cg from 2d designs. Is for a custom boot manufacturer. I have done about 50 % of the NF scout model now, but I don't want to show any pics until the model is finished. Will try to find some time over the weekend. Yeah.... Its doubtful that there boots would be that clean in the heat of battle, unless they had been sitting about in an arty tank for the whole game that is cheers for the comments :D

Hey I know its not really related, but it is a job that I got through the boots that I made for the imperial scout. Been slaving over it for the past few days so thought I would post it :D .. Maybe I could give them to the NF scout. I think that football boots would fit right in/. Went to stupid levels of detail in the texture, spec, bump, and reflection maps. all togther there is 1,34,217,728 pixels of texture space . (8X 4096X4096) pic 1 pic 2 pic 3
Why are they black? What happened to Rebel Red? Other than that, very nice, but rough 'em up a bit, they look too clean for the NF.

This sounds lame.. but I had a dream about what I imagined some parts of what some of the NF troops to look like.. Basically as I see it, they would have kinda.. those quite crappy fingerless gloves. Made of a dark cloth. Not anything more than that as it seems a bit fancy and more BE. Sometimes the gloves have longer parts down the wrist and sometimes shorter. Rolled up sleeves and where they're stopped rolled up, theyre there in a clump as the material is quite thick, tough and leathery. That's as far as my dream went and I'm pretty tired still so.. off I go
