    i never understood why people are so hyped about their desktops, i barely see mine, i dont turn on the pc to admire a desktop background ...

    That's a really cool thing and made me realize how much better the standard desktop could be. What happened to 3D desktops? I shall vote for it!

    I still remember 3dna xD


    I think 3D desktops like that quite stopped when windows vista came around.
    Now we pretty much only got window effects and icon things.

    Wouldnt use it now anyway.
    Its just a thing to try and then toss it away xD

    To me most of these things are just gimmicks to be honest. A good desktop for me is one that accelerates your work and that is easily controllable by hot keys. Ubuntu's Unity for example.
