Last time I posted about smoke and vehicle zoom I was told that Smoke will act more like a screen rather than an eye irritant. (in 2.25) (in other words, you can't see through it, but not out of it anymore. in 2.25 smoke will effectively CONCEAL object A on one side from object B on the otherside of the smoke.) Zoom, however, still needs to be implemented smoke might have been fixed, but my zoom suggestion was shot down as unnecessary. a couple people thought that vehicles were fine without zoom. I think that giving all vehicles zooming capabilities to up to 4x at least would help vehicles aim at targets just within draw distance effectively. It would also help with spotting infantry and assigning accurate waypoints as a squad lead. With the new weapons having considerably less arc, I think that adding a zoom will greatly improve the potential of vehicles strategic value. generally, empires needs to be slowed down a bit to the point where taking it slow and steady is the best way to go.
empires is at its best when it is fast and arcadey. slow and steady is for retards. zoom for vehicles was deemed unnecessary because it is unnecessary.
this ain't unreal tournament pickled. we need more strategic tools. empires is the most fun when strategy and tactics are advanced to the highest levels possible. + why not add zoom? sniper rifles have them, the iron-sights on rifles have a less sensitive/more accurate scope as well. putting them on vehicles may detract from the bumpercar syndrome. No, empires is the most fun when I rape everyone's face. The bumpercar syndrome is a symptom of tanks with too many HP and too weak weapons. And anyway, this type of gameplay has its own tactical considerations. making tanks more dangerous at long ranges just changes the kind of tactics, it doesn't add more of them.

long range MGs suck for infantry. Bad gameplay mechanic. MGs should just be removed altogether, they dominate infantry unfairly.
LR CN is shit. You can't fire it while moving or it misses by miles, and it still drops off, just retardedly. Arty you don't even LOOK at the target, and ML sniping is only good against BUILDINGS. BECAUSE THEY'RE HUGE.
Then maybe we should remove extended ranged, artillery, missiles, and make cannons explode 2 feet in front of you, then you can have all the exciting CQB you want.
