I agree - more GUI elements to help people figure out what needs to be done would be nice.

I like the idea of icons under the name, along with the class. Like this:



EDIT: Also, don't forget about the commander! He needs more GUI info too. I remember a suggestion about graphical ref calls; another good one would be indicators of where people are under attack on the actual game screen and not just the minimap, maybe?

Also, we should figure out a way to get the beginner's guide in the wiki ingame. The wiki is a fantastic resource - I read it while downloading and installing the mod, and I knew what to do when I joined my first game... But I can tell a lot of people skip it. If we had a main menu option like "How To Play" that showed a text box or something that detailed the basics, that'd be great.

 

^thats what the MOTD on the official server had. it worked for me.

 

How about there be a limit to how far squad members can be from each other if u want to get team work at its best its vital that people stick together not go of ninjaing the comm or feeling proud cause "i sabbed all their shit woot!" and trying to be solo ramboish

 

^squad abilities are suposed to do that but are not enough

another idea is to only give squad points if your are near a squad mate.

but attaching a magic bunjie cord to the waists of all squad members is just sillt.

 

can i have a go at some display sprites for the hud?

 

I have some ideas on the voice commands:


Cut out some of the existing voice macros, splice others together.

Assign all voice macros to the F1 to F12 keys.

Vehicle seats will be scrolled instead with Page Up/Down.
