Well I followed the wiki as best as I could. I Googled several websites. Searched the forums. And am now slightly annoyed. Sorry if this has been explained previously but I cannot find the solution anywhere PS: I should probably mention that that is not my Empires directory, nor the directory of well.... anything at all!
Ok great.... After much searching I found -ONE- suggestion for fixing the problem, only it includes completely reinstalling STEAM into a different directory hereby deleting all my games (just over 100gb).... Well fuck that!
If that's not your steam directory, or not even a directory, then perhaps the installer? is looking at the wrong place. It may be that some file you took or something you did has the path at the default install rather than your actual. Usually you need to find that file and correct the path. If you are just launching steam or whatnot, then it could be in a shortcut, if you're lucky. My response is from a OS point of view, not server setting up.
Well from what I can tell it's from the server (the program) not being able to read "spaces" in the steam directory, so it cannot find the game. Quite frankly I don't really understand it so I'll be leaving it for another week when I can manage to give a damn~ /me is finished with this thread. (It didn't really accomplish anything did it.... heh....)
