Micspamming used to be used to enhance the game experience. Now, people just spam it without context. It's kind of upsetting.

That round was fucking awful. This is why I rarely command now. I gave specific instructions to the team as for which squads are to go where. They all ignored me and tried to just rush their comm the whole game. Needless to say they failed.

    Commentary video from emp_isle (finally)

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d2bhBfRgt9Q

    (not edited btw)

Watch in 1440p or you waste my time xD

Discontinued using dxtory btw because of 2 reasons
Colors are flushed out for some reason.
Now its possible to use lagarith codec in msi afterburner and colors are ok with it.
So this is recorded in MSI afterburner with lagarith.

Next time I will probably add minimap that I will record separately from demo and add to the video so that the viewer will be more aware of whats happening.
And then I can also zoom in to the minimap, for example when some commentator mentions something important but camera man doesnt care.
And should probably do some more 1st person views and less flying around :P
If there will be more commented pugs...

It was the "original" quality on the youtube, its just renamed now.

I just rendered 1080p video in sony vegas into 2048x1152 so that its above 1080p.
Because youtube gives it bigger bitrate. So its actually just like watching 1080p youtube video but in bigger quality.

Most youtube videos that you will find in original/1440p quality on youtube are done in the same way.

    So its not real 1440p.
But I guess you might find some.

    So I can't watch it in native 1440p? That's a shame.

The video file that you see on the screen will be 1440p.

When you upload a Youtube video, it takes Youtube a while to post the video even after the upload is finished. I think they say that they are "rendering" it.

They take the source video and render copies of it in each of the resolutions that you can pick. There's a 480p copy, a 720p copy, etc.

So when they render a 2048x1152 video to 2560x1440, they have to upscale the 2359296 pixels to take up 3686400 pixels. You can't pull extra pixels out of thin air during the render.

So while you're watching a 1440p video file that has one info pixel for each physical monitor pixel, the original 1152p video had fewer pixels. So the quality is measurably lower than if the original uploaded video was 1440p.

I'd continue to explain why these shenanigans are actually better for those with 1080p monitors, but there's no way anyone is even reading this line.

I don't know what the recent change is, but the old "original" was for up to 4K x 2K, not 1440p.

Neony already mentioned it, but Trickster isn't the sharpest tool in the shed, so you have to spell things out to him.

But if you want more of my wisdom, I can arrange that. Take all of my wisdom!

On another note, I love how dumb the "sharpest tool in the shed" saying is, considering how some/most of the tools are not sharp at all.

"Dumb as a pack of nails" gets me every time though.

Agreed, a hammer is quite useful despite not being sharp.

Isn't that the point? A few tools are sharp and the rest are relatively blunt; a few people are smart and everyone else is relatively retarded.

That implies that sharper tools are more useful than blunt ones.

This right here is my line of though. Sharp tools are not more usefull, they just serve a diffrent purpose. I guess it boils down to a pun on being "sharp".
Har har, I see what you did there.
