I find it pretty hard to imagine a scout without a knife tbh. For such a stealthy class, wouldnt i make sense to give scouts knifes in order to slit enemys throats as the progress into enemy territorys? Would also make the Melee upgrade useful. Melee Upg. and Stealth upg. = instant throat slicing goodness .
Yes, I like this idea. But it should be made so that you need two stabs to kill so that the recieving end would stand somekind of a chance. After all our beloved scouts have the hide ability... And why not put the knife in the place of that annoying scout rifle while you're at it.
imo everybody should have a knife. I mean if you just go out with a gun... What else is there? /boring
maybe trow it for very short distances too? (make damage go low after a certan range) then it dous less damage it woud when you stab someone = stab = 300 damage (instant kill) range 1 meter trow = 80 damage within 5 meters, 60 damage within 10m, and 20 if +10m trow reload shoud be like 4 seconds? stab reload (allthoug uses no ammo) shoud be 10 seconds? ammo = 5 small trowing knifes on spaun, max carried of 10? 1 large stabbing knife otherwise scout will be defenceless against all ranged weapons once decloaked
ugh please no infinte ammo 1 hit kill weapons :/ Someone camping out in another teams bunker stabbing people as they spawn would pretty much send me packing to another mod... Games that give 1 hit kill mele weapons are few and far between and to be honest I am very glad that is true. If you really want to play ninja knife man load up some soldier of fortune 2 and play knife tag in multiplayer. You should get your fill pretty fast.
hmmm, maybe give them a reload of 15 seconds? as in that the scout needs to rest a bit to regain strenght ? remeber that this is a close combat weapon, they have the tendancy to be strong
A knife is a nice standard weapon to have but to those who fear the one hit kill the knife is a powerful weapon if u get a good hit and should be able to in one hit special head shots as for the spawn camping placing a few small turrets in the barraks should get rid of that:D or give it a door so the enemy can only get in during that small period that its open as in when u leave with gun ready in hand. Also as for the one hit kill with knife I believe only head hits and back stabs should only kill in one hit and maybe a maybe a defend option were u can use your weapon to protect your head from charging knifers as for the body 40 damage per hit sounds good with fast reload.
killing someone with a knife in the head is VERY hard, (skull anyone...) allthoug the neck is vonrable, it woud take the victim at least 2 minutes to die a certain death so i woud just keep the backstab
Why is everyone so freaked out about 1 hit infantry kills? Have you all not played against an HE Arty? Some maps like money and slaughtered give ~500 tickets per team...even without revive you can die a whole lot and your team won't lose. If someone makes the effort to get into your base and evade death long enough to get more than a handful of kills then he should be rewarded with a powerful weapon!
after killing 1 person the scout would have to wait for hide to kick in before the knife would be worth a damn again. also make him choose between pistol and knife. i was about to suggest that attacking with knife wouldnt disable hide, but i changed my mind sense that game already exists... hiden
1 hit = WIN because you can be sprayed down by any weapon, slightly except for the pistol where it's like 3 seconds. or 1 Hit in back = kill, if codable. -------------- add a melee button that works for all weapons except rocket/ grenade launcher.
There's a damage multiplier applied to the head hitbox (along with all the other hitboxes). It isn't necessarily an instant kill, it's just highly likely. If you were to use the same methods, you would have to have a separate hitbox for the back, and I can see that contributing to lag (if only by a few milliseconds).
