I was joining a server when it has the manual extract about how many walls you are touching as a scout is how inviable you are. I suddnly thorght that it is very hard to tell how inviable you are with the current screen.

I think that there should be an invisable bar like in splinter cell that tells the scout how inviable he/she is.

    Pros:
U can tell how invis u are,
    Would be very cool

    Cons:
Could be hard to code (dont know, no idea how to code)

    Altenative:
A bar that says whether u r inviable or not.

What? Hide is useless when sniping. Take stamina or accuracy upgrade instead.

Besides, this already exists. Your degree of concealment is indicated by how dark your screen gets.

Heard about the guy who made a record of 79 sabotages on one VF? Guess he didn't snipe.

I always scout, and pick hide as up skill first. Whats the use of anything else if people see you?

not being on radar is a great + when you are sneaking an APC into an enemy base.

people not knowing that they were killed by a person is a huge plus. If they think they are getting slayed, they'd get pissed and just leave right?

Btw, does it still show up in console or does nothing show up at all?

anyhow, vehicle speed is fun when you need to break through a turret farm. Theres a custom map with a trench fight that's pretty fun for that.

Scout speed lets you sprint without using stamina?!?!

The dude who sabbed one vf 79 times was [BSID] eth0 and I can testify to that because I was sabbotauging the radar, I managed 22.

I'd prefer a %age, just because it's small and easy to keep out of the way and easy to interpret how high the max is.

    Anyway, good suggestion :D

I agree, I'd rather have a meter or some other more subtle method of saying how much the enemy can see you. The screen darkening is nice and all, but it's really annoying when you want to actually SEE ANYTHING.

I think it's a counter to the whole "snipe while invisible" thing :P

But honestly, good snipers don't need hide, they take ammo upgrade so they can snipe moar...

Also the blackened crosshair makes it harder to snipe unscoped... and sniping unscoped is badass. :|

The thing with hide is that it only VERY rarely prevents you from actually being seen while sniping. You've still got bullet tracers, and that's what most people look for, anyway. It's much better to take stamina upgrade so you don't have to wait so long between shots, or accuracy upgrade to increase your effective range.

Personally, I can avoid being seen plenty well without hide. Even if I'm infiltrating, I only take hide when I'm expecting turrets.

Personally I prefer the silencer upgrade so they can't hear your shot or see the kill blurb on the side of the screen, but I think Hide also has its place for being a scout. I would use hide in a lot of comm maps because of the lack of foliage to hide in or behind.

The more you go transparent, the less you can see on the screen, and thats lame. You can barely see the crosshair when you touch 1 wall/object. (If I remember right)

Even if you manage to get 100% invisible, your screen gets 90% black.

I only use Hide when turrets need to be sabbed, or for free melee kills on Escort.

You don't usually touch more than 2 walls at a time, so no need for a invisabablaitiy bar.

The idea is that ifyou are invisible, you aren't sniping. you are sneaking past enemy turrets or something. There are no 'Snipers' in the game reallly. Just a scout with a weakish 1 shot rifle.
