I have heard that STALKER is big in Eastern Europe. Like, Halo or CoD or even WOW big. But this is friggin' ridiculous. I read that there was 200,000 people there. I think they meant 20,000. But that is still a shit-load of people turning up to a fanfest for a game that isn't an MMO or even primarily multiplayer. Heck, I love STALKER, but we are talking about a game that is almost unplayable unless it's modded. I never saw STALKER as a cos-play magnet :D I haven't seen so many people wearing gasmasks since WW1. Anyhoo, go S.T.A.L.K.E.R! My personal favorite FPS. :D P.S. Wait until one of the GSC guys sings Eurthymics "Sweet Dreams". It will peel the enamel from your teeth.
It's not unplayable ... it's stalker! It's a very great game but 200,000 ppl? Even 20,000 is way overboard for a game ...

This is from the official website: "Undeniably, one of the key events in the world of S.T.A.L.K.E.R. this year was S.T.A.L.K.E.R.-Fest, the first international festival of s.t.a.l.k.e.r. culture to have gathered about 200 thousand participants on Kiev's central plaza." As soon as I read it I thought: That must be either a gross exaggeration or a typo. It must be. It must be. Surely.... So lets say they are waaaaaay out and it was 'only' 20,000, it's still a huge mass of S.T.A.L.K.E.R. fans. Maybe there is just fuck-all else to do in Kiev? :D
maybe its just common life in russia, like people just called it "stalker" day but for the rest nothing really changed, everyone still wears there standard issue radiation suits

Maybe you played it unmodded? Anyhoo. I figure they basically set up a rock concert in the middle of a city, right? I'm guessing at least nine out of ten of the people there just turned up out of curiosity and to see some live music. There was probably only a minority of people there who actually knew what the hell STALKER was before they turned up.
Hell I played it unmodded with a fluctuating FPS ranging between 9 & 25 (A steady 30 FPS indoors) & still had fun.
Well the first one was awesome. I deleted the second iteration after just some minutes. It sucked hard.
Yeah, Clear Sky is pretty pathetic compared to the first, the whole territorial war crap annoys me. Along with the hiding whenever there's one of dem flashes (can't remember the in-game term). It's really purrty though. A thing i never understood, was how dropping my barely damaged RPG into a high-rad area for a few seconds would render it nearly useless.
No, becaue i've heard it's still bugged to fuck. Just like CS, unplayable-bugged. CANT THEY JUST FIX LIKE 3 GAMEBREAKING BUGS SO I CAN PLAY IT?
