I was messing around with my own server garys mod style when i noticed that if u r a comm on one team and the reserch on something (e.g. Mecanical engerniring) and then go to the other team and become comm, as soon as u open the rech pannel its where u left it on the other team AND ur alble to rech the stuff on the list without reserching the stuff before it. :eek: Doubt this would happen in a full time game but just thought i should point it out
spell checker please, and don't write in text language. Well, at least this doesn't happen on proper servers, so unless it does this bug ain't that big a deal
The chance to research something in the CV and then switch to the other team and get into the cv isn't so high on a fully populated server. And if it doesn't hurt you, then.. nah.
I have seen this before, but I have never been able to research without going back on the tech tree and researching the pre requisites. I think this will also happen when you are com 2 maps in a row.
If the comm could take his tech with him on a teamswitch, that would probably just be fair... If a team is so annoying they make a comm switch teams, they should be prepared to face tech-enhanced rape Too bad it doesn't work x3 "FUCK YOU GUYS, I'M LEAVING AND I'M TAKING THE TECH WITH ME! >"
I imagine the fix is rather simple...but whatever. It isn't exploitable as Mootant pointed out (I've known of this bug for ages, but never considered it a high priority) so there's really nothing to go bananas over. At best, list it on the bug tracker as a minor code issue.
Listen to this, I've played on my server as comm, I was at something like the heavy tank research area. Anyway the next round started, and I was still in the same place on the left hand side, (You know where it tells you what your under with the listings) and when I chose a new category it continued. Well after a few rounds it got so far down the side that when I chose something it made me crash. Also happened the comm on the other team as well.
