The commander should get the ability to recycle vehicles that are not being used. To prevent the comm from deleting vehicles that are only temporarily unoccupied, they could get be marked in the comm view after they are abandoned for 30 seconds or if they are obsolete. This ability would allow the commander to delete useless vehicles so the team can stay under vehicle capacity
I see where you are going with this but it should stay the same. It is always better for your team to leave an abandoned enemy tank alone so your enemy has something taking up pop.
I think you should have to take the vehicle EITHER into a Repair Station (more likely) or a VF, but yes, this should be implemented.
that's not what I had in mind, this is so the enemy commander can recycle one of their own tanks to keep it from taking up pop
Not a bad thing. Would prevent lots of rage. Rage that happens when some poor non-pro first-timer builds a jeep when the team is saving for heavies
yeah there would have to be some insurance against empty (or random nub) abuse, but yeah thats what the timer's for, although a full minute would be better
I like. Its a partial solution to noobs who drive their tanks to the front line, jump out to repair, and get killed. I've had times where 7-8 of my teams tank limits were taken up by abandoned vehicles. Very frustrating.
So long as we let HSM recycle his own CV, I'm good with it. Seriously though, this would be good if not abused (screw that guy, bye tank) but I have a feeling it would be abused regularly if there's any potential. Recycle timer stops if someone enters the vehicle? This means you can't lose your ride unless you let the commander take it, or are too far away to get to it in time. Probably need to return partial credit for damaged vehicles (percent?).
*bump* Was thinking about posting a topic with a suggestion similar to this, but yay search engine! Anyway, why not make everyone able to recycle their own / abandon vehicles on the repair pad? Lets say you find an abandon LT while the team has heavies and you find a rep pad, open whatever menu (Vehicle menu would probably be the best placement...) and click "Recycle". (Should give half of the res spent on building the vehicle back, if not the entire amount of res spent, up to the devs.) Also, this should only take a second instead of letting the com pick the vehicle and recycle it with a timer.
