Recording crash

    I don't know if it is worth posting since Empires is switching engines, but often when I attempt to start recording a demo, I automatically get a connection problem.

    Something about a bad UpdateTableString.

    i get the same thing, just after you start recording a demo you loose connection to the server.

    so i've been using fraps

    I find rejoining before you start fixes this for me.

    i get a crash too on the 1st record, after a rejoin on the server and the same command my record works.

    I've been useing fraps for years, i like it.

    and the whole rejoining the server worked, makes no sense but it did, thanks

    FRAPS = Big Files (to make files smaler u must run a tool like SUPER)
    FRAPS = tool to make fast Movies for people they dont know how they make a Avi from dem!

    Dem-> avi is such better than Fraps, please! ;)

    i use fraps to record long scenes, then i take those and put them into a video mixer and do as i wish. at the end the file is an .avi

    the thing about fraps is tha tyou need a good system or it will bog down your gameplay so bad that it may suck

    People people people... When will you learn. Open Source. O P E N S O U R C E. :p

    There is an open source version of any software product you could want just hiding out there in the wilds of the interweb. I shouldn't even have to say support open source. Open Source products are usually just plan better anyways... --And FREE. :)

    CamStudio is an example of one. Very simple, straight forward, and with the right codecs installed very versatile. When I learned 'fraps' was commercial this was the first one I found and it seems to work quite quite well. No time limits, no fees, to water marks, no performance bottlenecks, no compatibility issues. It even exports to SWF if you so choose. This took me all of 10 seconds to find, and to drive the point home I didn't even search google to find it... I searched youtube, which logically shouldn't return any useful results.

    Known bug, should be confirmed by playtesters whether it still happens with OB port.
