The first video is probably one of my favorite empires moments of all time. From my point of view as the BE comm. The game is as even as it can get. Canyon is divided into its traditional split map formation. The game soon changes after NF finished researching super lights. You have to take your minds back to 2.12 days to fully understand the advantage this presents NF. Lights would dominate everything in those days (later patches would include buffs for AFV health etc). Therefore Trickster decides to execute his forte at the time, presumably repeatedly uttering "EVERYONE ON THE TEAM GET IN A LIGHT TANK" while consciously fending off his self arousal . At this point the casual players mind phases into a state akin to a cat in a doorway. By the time they set off, We had crossed half the map and were approaching their main. Even so, I was fuck shit scared, I'd never seen this strategy fail. I spammed the choke with as many walls as our team had resources for. I ran to the complete opposite side of the map and started building a new base anticipating a collapse in the eastern front. In actuality, I sat in their old main, where their rush originally began, laughing my ass off at the sight of the constipation which I had caused. Even so we would probably have lost if we hadn't of killed their CV, as was the strength of that number of light tanks. So tricksters failure and Predators arty strikes were our only salvation. Just gotta extend my thanks Ukgamer for recording this memory.
Fog actually makes your map run faster because it makes it so things behind it aren't rendered. That is if you are utilizing the far-z clipping plane correctly.
Trench warfare was always been depressing and foggy. Rare occasions could people see. Seeing as my map will be small, the fog will prevent people from sniping across the map very easily and people would have to rely on tracer fire and camera's. I want to encourage CQC combat as much as possible. I am not sure if I can disable turrets, or just level 3's.
Do you really want to play on a map that's depressing and foggy? We already have rain on canyon for that.
That rain is nice effect, and I loved it. Maps with atmosphere have more character than the ones who don't.
We are apparently in "old vets coming back" month, there's a lot of People Here that haven't been around for ages.
