In many cases, the first armor/engine you research will determine the outcome of the match. Here's my ranking of my favorite first armor/engine combos. 1. Regen/Bio <- Cheap for suicide, noob tanks and close to BIOMG 2. Refl/Fission <- DUAPC 3. Abs/Coolant <- Very cheap/light and low heat, close to HE,UML,HEMG 4. Reactive/3phase <- Superlights, fast, close to LVL3's and Rails 5. Comp/Gas <- For team griefing only Please post with your rankings/reasons for your favorite first armor/engine combos.
For NF: 1. Reactive/3phase <- Pros: An experienced tank driver can do a lot of damage with a tank. Cons: Very expensive 2. Regen/Bio <- Pros: Cheap tank, good armor. Cons: Horrible engine 3. Abs/Coolant <- Cons: Worst tank ever unless the enemy team uses rails exclusively 4. Refl/Fission <-Pros: Close to nukes. Cons: Superlights are better For BE: 1. Refl/Fission <-Pros: Only way to counter LTs (except HE or Bio MG). Cons: If NF gets Bio armor, DU is worthless 2. Reactive/3phase <- Pros: Close to rails. Cons: You are stuck with AFVs until heavies are ready 3. Regen/Bio <- Pros: Cheap tank, good armor. Cons: Horrible engine, stuck with AFVs 4. Abs/Coolant <- Cons: NF uses MLs primarily on their tanks, so abs is the worst armor for BE
seems like a lot of people like BIO now, at the time of v2.0 everybody thought BIO was the most horrible one and would be called a noob commander for rushing BIO/regen
3phase and absorbant/regem always win. However, I bet bio will suck after the next update and everyone will rush bio MG to make sure to have the advantage if the enemy uses regen-armor.
I won the other day with composite/turbine mediums. Training server of course, and we had rampaged around as infantry taking a ton of res. No way to afford those in regular games. Everyones anti bio now just because they nerfed it. Its my favorite because its cheap, fast, and helps out the tank noobs that sit around as rofleman saying NEEDS REAPAIRS.
I really like turbine too but it is just to out of the way for a research path. You never get composite because only good players can handle useing it while 1 or 2 noobs will ruin the tanks for the rest of the team due to their fail driving and inability to repair their tanks. A team of vets can make comp turbine unstoppable(in a vet vrs vet situation, cause we all know how a vet vrs noob is going to end anyway).
For NF 1) 3phase/reactive(early game) 2) Bio/regen(early) 3) Adv cool/abs(late game) for BE 1) Gas/reflective 2) bio/regen For BE almost anything else for armor is a big waste of time.
Anything except bio in any situation is a waste of time, why spend 5 minutes on tanks when you can spend 2 and a half? By the time they get developed tanks you already have mediums.. its hands down really
i get bio/regen quite often because of that, having tanks on the field before the enemy can really push the early game. doesnt change the fact that bio engine is just barely better than standard except that it doesnt slow down once u start overheating. I dont really understand your bio engine fetish here im not going to lie, have you TRIED something else lately? I know 3 phase is kinda gay because it stalls but its still the second fastest cooling engine in the game as the fastest speed wise. Other engines are far better if you can control yourself enough to not overheat your engine.
