Okay, heres the idea. Read all the steps please Radar price is increased to somewhere in the 1000 - 1500. Research becomes either free or price over time. Destroying the radar ends research in progress. Sabotaging pauses research. Announces the current research in progress to your team. Put it all together and you have a damned fine reason to attack / defend the radar thoughts?
changing the pay model would drastically shift gameplay. may not be necessarily bad. there should be multiple radar types. one with current model of low cost, pay-as-you-go. also, scout sabotage of radar followed with "uploading enemy intelligence" (+use at friendly radar or command vehicle) should provide a light counter or reduced research time for that research (e.g. stealing during armor research buffs your RPGs and shortens that research's time).
....interesting. maybe some of these, but not all, to make the current radar more important to target? eg. radar price increased, destryoing radar halts research, and sabotage could slow research. but you still pay the same prices for research (dev wise, free research would be a 'balancing act' wouldnt it?) that would make for a more important radar, and maybe lead to more coms placing two when they can, for a better reason than minimap coverage. anyway UNLEASH THE HOUNDS! edit: yeah ounins idea for scout sab on a radar actually doing something cool is awesome.
I don't like the idea of pausing research by sabotage. Instant red flag and doesn't get too much done you can do instead of destroying it. I like the current sabotage where you can see enemy vehicles on the map, but it'd like my metagame too. ):<
Agree, just dont make the radar too overpriced, or it could make the game almost an instant win or lose scenario, simply by denying the enemy resources, and then it makes comebacks for the enemy impossible, and vice versa.
