that PUG was awesome! my favorite matches we're Escort, which was relentless excitement until both teams got to 1 ticket (then BE lost ) and also UrbanC, which i just love being heavy machinegunner on. you know what i love about this mod with heavy machinegunner? some mods make you really slow as a HMG. others let you be fast, which is really irritating for everyone as you zip about. in this one, after firing your HMG, you go slow because you have no stamina, but after you're out of combat, you go fast again because you're stamina has recovered. best of both worlds. and it works well.
Dude that escort match kicked ass, I was on NF. for those who weren't there we had a massive end game firefight at last flag with a full 32 people.
Cool, I wish I weren't at work so I could've played. I hope to get some good performance info out of this test.
The server was full and the game lagged, though I'm pretty sure it wasn't the servers fault and it was client side graphics. There were loads of turrets and players being drawn and people were shooting all over the place. Even my FPS dropped massively. Disappointingly, BE lost. (So close!)
haha yeah XD the crossroads, escort and canyon game was great :D espesially the crossroads one because it had a funny ending XD
The reason the game lagged so much was because people were placing down dozens of turrets, were all camping at the turrets, then the BE team came with their infantry and vehicles in the same visleaf, it caused massive polygon counts to be rendered. I don't know wether there's LOD models for the turrets and vehicles, but there should be.
I found that I lagged whenever i looked through that big arch on the last flag that has to be broken through. it lagged whichever way i looked on that.
Yeh I think everyone at the arch noticed that. The engineers were repairing that wall and as soon as it went down it lagged like hell in that area.
it wasnt just lag on the client side, at the last flag (before my pc froze up) I threw a grenade while I still had around 20 fps, and the grenade was lagging through the air, I could crawl faster irl than it was thrown
Yeah, but it seems a bit too overpowered tbh I'll have to extensively test it later to be sure tho :p
