I bought GMOD10 awhile ago thinking it would be the orgasmically bitchen, and ive had alot of bugs with it... 1) game crashes all the time (usually it freezes my computer and i cant click out of the game) 2) cant launch the game in a window its laggy and has errors 3) its basically as laggy as 9.04 (not really a bug, im just suprised) so i was wondering if anyone had any ideas on whats happening and how i can fix it, although i have like 0 specific information. I'd post this in bugs but i noticed its really susposed to be for Empires Mod
It would be the best place to go but I would prefer it if people didn't point stuff like that out. He's only asking a question and perhaps someone here knows the answer. I'd much rather ask someone I know for help before someone I don't know I myself don't know though
Same exact problems. I highly suggest you run it in Windowed mode, so if your game does crash it won't bring down your card with it, so you can just close the game and continue working. BTW, I've tried everything known to man to fix the graphical side of things (refresh rate, dxlevel, etc.) and I do not think its that. Garry is just pushing a $10 game with a $10 developer's team.
I again point to my above post. Garry has more ego than skill- and he does have quite some skill. He fits well with Valve because he doesn't give a shit about the customers, since he pretty much disbanded the community he once created.
................................ I don't even know what to say. The fact you even considered posting this in the bugs forum blows my mind.
Man, i still don't get what's up with the fuss about Gmod. I d/l'ed 8 or 9, and it's so damn confusing... it was like trying to teach myself how to map with SDK, and even THAT took forever. I don't have that much patience in these games. My hat goes off to everyone who actually plays with Gmod. I don't know how you do it.
Did you delete all previous versions before you installed Gmod 10? Also I'm pretty sure most of the custom stuff fecks up the files as the spawn menu doesn't work in the same way. Other than that, mine works perfectly so... =S
Previous versions shouldn't mess up Gmod10; GMod10 is installed into your Steam>[Username]> directory, while Gmod9 is installed into your Steamapps directory. And yes, custom mods are usually the source of problems, except I ran a clean install of GMod10 and it still crashes almost every time I go online.
