Greetings! We here at One-Man-Human-Wave-Attacks™ Inc. are committed to providing the most dangerous battlefield imaginable. To this end, we have acquired a number of jeeps from both the Brenodi Empire and the rebellious Northern Faction, and retrofitted them to your ultimate satisfaction and personal injury! You are no doubt aware of "rollbars", solid cylinders of steel or aluminum used to protect passengers from the dangers of the world, that frequently interfere with the human body's natural right to receive bullets, explosions, and abrasive contact with earthly features. Our techs are working around the clock to remove these crucial safety features, and we soon expect to be providing these hazardous new vehicles at request to those scrupulous and reckless soldiers who share our no-holds-rollbarred vision of combat! Our Northern Faction jeep is several hundred pounds lighter and that much more likely to flip at a moment's notice. Isn't she a beauty? Our Brenodi Empire jeep was as difficult to get out of as it was to get in! No longer! Please do not keep your hands and feet within the vehicle at any time! (As if you had a choice. Ha ha!) (Regretfully, our photographer is currently on hiatus. Differences between stock photos and the new jeep designs may occur.) See our Filefront Distribution and Mayhem Manufactory facility for more information: Version 4: Mediafire Link (Apr. 28, 2011) 29/11/2009 -- Updated NF jeep texture. 23/04/2010 -- Replaced custom textures with custom models created by Siro. (Since abandoned.) 01/05/2010 -- Rollbarless textures now support camo. (Simply extract to your Empires folder.)
the BE jeep could also use some glass in the front so you can see where you're going. Otherwise i say the same as konata said above.
Does the roll bars actually stop bullets? And the NF jeep still looks ugly. It needs a new model or at least a new texture.
Yay! I can now snipe people out of the jeep with small arms fire! What happens when the jeep flips now? Drivers/passengers take damage on impact?
Ah yes, lets clarify that. THIS IS PURELY VISUAL! The roll bars are still there, you just can't see them.
Correction. The roll bars never had any collision. They were purely visual. Now they're gone, so what you see is what you collide with. Bullets colliding with things you can't see is an imperative no-no in my world. *cough*trees*cough*in*cough*duststorm*cough* The seats and wheel covers on the NF jeep don't have collision either...
I'm looking at these pictures and I'm thinking, shit, that NF jeep is horrible. Just generally, have you ever looked at it? It's the sort of thing a 7 year old makes in mechano. The wheels are a regular 10 sided polygon, the seats are 2 cuboids, the stearing wheel is like an orange square, the texture looks as stretched as youzy's mum on roller skates after falling into a medieval rack, the roll bars, as they were, were just a few cuboids knocked haphazardly together. Seriously, does this thing have like 50 polies or something? It's by far the worst empires model. I know this is completely off topic, so just to justify this post: I don't like hax so I'm against this, but I don't like rollbars so my mind has exploded.
Use these. They work fine with the new textures. Edit: Oh wait, they're not available any more. Hold on.
I have now re-released Siro's rollbarless jeeps in the OP, since they're mostly superior to what I have created. (Under the philosophy of "It's easier to beg forgiveness...") There is a minor issue in that Siro did not eliminate the NF jeep's exhaust stack, only the rollbars. It should, however, tolerate camo and reskins much better.
