Post the big news on the Mod DB page!

If there is even one sentence posted on the Empires Mod DB news page, there is a 100% chance that Empires will appear on the front page. This will also cause some other websites to also post the news. Instant publicity.

 

yeah, people who play mods check that website out probably more than the front page of steam.

 

Totally wrong assumption. Steam has 30M users and moddb has like (number totally out of ass) 100k visitors.

 

100k visitors that SEE something about Empires' steamrelease are better than 30 M that DON'T see anything about Empires.
Just do it, can't take you longer than 15 minutes.

 

Everyone saw empires added to their games list on the steam community...

 

Click-through rate of Steam is prolly thousands times lower than ModDB though, which is what actually matters

 

It takes a lot. It needs pics, it need files/screenshots and it waits days for approval. Even Valve is faster.

 

There's shitloads of pictures floating around the forum at the moment.

 

This is what you have a community for. If you need help just say the word and there are people here who will gladly help with not-programing stuff like writing, pictures, etc.

IMO wait until second patch on steam to make sure that goes smoothly. No need to rush it.

 

the top most played game currently is counter strike 1.6, css as second (so that might draw players), then modern warfare 2 and black ops for 3 and 4.

I think it would be wise to post on moddb, and it doesn't even matter, the more websites you are on means the more people will know, it's not like we can only do 1 website.

 

well 2.0 had a much bigger influx of noobs and that was pretty much just advertised on moddb.
