Why not instead of getting points for killing, demolishing and sabotaging get points for dealing damage? 1% sabotage = 0.005 points? 1% damage = 0.01 points? This would fix idiots who will just shoot on the last moment en therefore get all the points. Without the guy that actualy the most work getting something. This would also promote teamwork and support fire.
Actually, it would help a bit in tank battles. And Dawgas.. Grinding? How do ya think? ''Let's go to the enemy barrack and hurt it, and then let 'em repair it?''
Nice idea. Not a big change, since it would work similar to the engy tool with repairing and healing.
It could fix the problem were you would be the person damaging everyone and are actualy a good player while the nooby idiot with the pistol gets all the kills. Aproved, or not?
I'm more annoyed by those people who just wait next to you while you destroy a building, and then - BAM - fragsteal it with one shell/whatever.
Yes make it for people, if you do allot for your team - lots of points. If you are a faggotry scout sitting on its back instant killing people you get nothing.
I'd say give everyone who helps significantly in an objective the full amount of points for completing it. Half cap a flag? Get all the points when it's capped. Do a third total damage to a tank? Get all the points when it dies. Also award the person who lands the killing blow points so that people aren't discouraged from joining in on a half dead structure.
Lets just keep it simple, like this 100 Infantry Damage = 1 pt 100 Vehicle Damage = 1 pt 100 Engy Repair = 1 pt 100 Engy Heal = 1 pt Simple, consistent, and universal. Can't get any better than that
Cheers, 1.2 rank for every nuke fired (assuming it opnly hits one tank). Heck, with that kind of system i could get 4-16 points from killing a single tank. I like the overall idea but it might require some work to find a satisfying solution. 0.01 points for each 1% of a vechiles/buildings/infranterys total hp dealt in damage?
afv, lights, both mediums, and BE heavies all have 200 hp hulls, so .05% xp for each point done to the hull would be about equal to what we have now. there is another thread with a more complete breakdown.
I say yes and no to that. Yes, Because it would promote more teamwork. No, because of the following... 12 Grenadiers shoot a tank, they don't do it all at once > they shoot after each other on different locations and different times. The tank keeps being repaired all the time and disapears deep in the enemy base. Meanwhile those 12 grenadiers have switched class and forgotten that tank. Now some grenadier with nothing to do lays down a 8mine and BAM the tank drivers over it and vaporizes in an instant. Suddenly all those 12 players will get the message "You have got 1 skill point for participating in destorying an enemy vehicle." Ofcourse some would be in sqauds too so you would get the message "You got 1 skill point for participating in your sqaud" But actualy it creates even worse bugs. If I use a rifle, in this case a engineer SMG2 and shoot the tank I deal 0 damage. But 0 damage is still damage. So even though the Engineer did nto deal real damage he will still get a point for killing the enemy vehicle. Wich is allready happening right now. If I am in a sqaud and shoot an enemy APC with my pistol I won't deal any damage. But, if a member of my sqaud kills that vehicle I and the person in my sqaud will still get the message "You blah blah 1 skill point blah". Think of what would happen right now... The entire team getting 40 points(if its 20 vs 20) for killing 1 tank. O_o?
you could also make a system that counts down the percentages you damaged a certain vehicle, if your percentage is expired you do not get any peace of the cake
Er, I said significant contribution. Shooting one rocket at a tank half an hour ago is not a signficiant contribution. Surely it's not that hard to grasp is it?
