Give players the first skill as it is now, when you join the game, the second skill at 10 points, the third at 20 points, and the fourth at 30. It's stupid that you have to earn twenty points before you get another skill. I've been through many games where noone ever earns enough points for the second skill. At ten points everyone gets a rank upgrade, but there is no reason why we don't get a skill then.

    Taken from...somewhere. :pathetic:

And yes, why can't someone do this very freaking simple fix? It would require absolutely no balance testing anyways. :p

    Personaly I have always liked the idea of getting 5 skills at 0, 10, 20, 30, 40.

Yes, there have been a large amount of people wanting changes to the skill system. Everyone want's to argue about what the points should be, right? Well, I say stick it to the freaking way it's supposed to be, start with a free skill and get another skill at every ten points. This should have been fixed ages ago, and I say it's about time for someone to do it now.

40 points is no accomplishment at all. if anything it should be harder to get skills.

20 > 40 > 60 would be a nice progression. some skills should also be buffed.

I would prefer exponential increase... It's too bad there are only 4 skills and 1 has to be given out for free, creating only 3 upgrades (plus the leet bonuses like double turrets), but anyways exponential might look like.

    0 > 10 > 25 > 45 > 80
    or
    0 > 10 > 30 > 60 > 100
    or
    5 > 15 > 30 > 50 > 75

10 points is too soon for a second skill imo
As it stands right now when I play gren I get 20 points right around the time they start fielding tanks with armor, so I'm able to get armor detection at the near same time.

And imagine the lvl 3 spam when noob engies only need 10 points for repair/turret upgrade :/

How about this: 0, 50, 75, 100. That way all you elite players are the only ones who will ever get more than one skill, so the game is "paced" for you. Perhaps we should restrict tanks to those who have earned 200 points? :pathetic:

I rather prefer having 4 skills actually happen in a match that isn't district, thanks.

This all stems back to the problem of 64 man servers again.

Back when empires matches had less people and didn't end with the first rush. You could easily get all four skills half way thru a match and still have hundreds of tickets left.

Make it a script so server owners could change the values themselves?

Sounds good. I like. How about we open a new topic for this?

How about you play with your squad? You know it's not hard getting 40+ points if you play with your fucking team. This is a win/win IMO, it gives people more incentive to work together. Besides who said skills should be easy to get? Doesn't it feel good to get an accomplishment that is hard to achieve sometimes?

I am leaning towards putting skill requirements script side as well, but I really need the community to understand that these kinds of features are with the intent of beta testing not "production" versions.
