Please nerf smokes

    Smokes are.. mostly used for trolling the team, and that... it does good.

    Because.. Is this "fun" in empires?

    and don't give me that shit that we shouldn't balance around maps, because the only use for them are in small infantry maps.

    Well I just nominate the giving sticky stun to rifleman and then removing scout, many problems solved in 1 blow

    Not going to happen. There are plans with regard to Scout, and the issues there will be resolved.

    As for Smokes Grenades, I don't think I've ever actually seen them used in a useful function. Nothing will happen for the next patch, but when we address Scout, smoke grenades will get sorted too.

    Does the particle bug with smoke grenades exist (particles of smoke grenade blend in with texture)? Or did the devs fix that with the most recent patch?

    There should be Biology Grenades that poisons people so I can drop bio nades into barracks.

    I also think bio grenades is a good tool to force defenders to come out or die slowly.

    Frankly, I'd remove the blinds as well, as they are used in much same way. They are only ever reallly usefull for something that is not apparent at all, stunnig turrets.

    The entire scout is a rage class. I know Trickster claims to have a magical fix in the near future, but I can't imagine a class remotely similar to the current scout that doesn't revolve around trolling the other team.

    You can use smokes to move through areas with no cover, its just they aren't that great at it and nobody ever does. I did see it once though when spectating Mvalley.

    Some new player who's name I don't recall had obviously been playing ARMA or something was throwing smokes to move up into natural cover. It was then pretty funny to see all the other guys in his squad (who had just revved him) just kind of crouching there huddled behind a wall looking at each other like "WTF is he throwing smokes in the open for?! Nub!" Then a grenade came down from over the hill and killed them. Admittedly if was a dumb move beause they might otherwise have gone unnoticed for longer but it amused me to see a whole squad just stand still scratching their heads in the middle of a kill zone trying to work out what he was hoping to achieve.

    I believe they should activate quicker, in a bigger radius, but for not as long (i dont know what the current duration is).

    That way you can pop some smokes run across and then they expire once you've reached the other side or wherever.

    Yes, I like the idea of having even more shit on that map which helps out those mortar/HE nade faggets.

    Smoke grenades are made for games which have limited use of ammo and a low health bar. In this game there's almost no way to use smoke nades efficient since you don't need that tactical advantage, we can manually drop walls, hide behinds tanks and build buildings anywhere for that sort of thing. Also it does not blind turrets if I am still up2date with that.

    Concussion is pretty useful though, can't say I wouldn't use them as scout if I didn't go for sticky stuns already. It can stun turrets and blind players which you might die from (rifleman, grenadier). Just one problem though....

    wtf, seriously... we wouldn't be having this problem if smokes visibility was reversed. Impossible to see into, slight visibility while inside.

    Make smoke be around a larger radius but increase sight range when within a smoke cover, while also decreasing visibility THROUGH the damn particle.

    How about making them drain stamina? Since decreasing radius of effect and reducing the opacity would make them really shitty, having them drain the enemies' stamina would keep it from being completely useless while helping to weaken the effect it has on friendlies.

    Huh... thats doable. Say they are tear gas nades and it drains stamina due to coughing.
