ok. my driver says; unknown cpu type. is that something i should be concerned with? For my video card i use Nvidia Geforce 6200
pfft... um... seriously, I don't think your going to get a um... kind reply from anyone else here over your using win 98. While technicaly directx 9 and hl2 "work" on win 98... just... just no man... you need help. Anyways... your running of win 98 indicates you may have a fairly old cpu, one that does not support sse2. Doing a search tells shows me these links. Linky Linky In here Trickster already told you that you need a cpu that has sse2 Anyways... here.. use THIS program to find out what cpu you have. Look for the box that says instructions. if you see sse2 then you should be good.
well this is a computer i use at my mothers house. my other comps much better. i was hoping to see if it would run on this comp but if not ill get it on my other one. thanks for at least telling me that it wont work
