we should put a setting in controls [multiplayer] that sets what playermodel you use.

this way you can play rifleman with an engi hat or play engi with a helmet etc.
be engi looks badass with a big gun

 

please make this clientside or custom models w/e if implemented engie rifleman looks plain silly.

Player models are used to somewhat distinguish between classes. If anything, you need to make new playermodels for all classes, and have them look somewhat different at medium distance.
Letting people chose whatever will make their class unreadable both to allies and enemies, and you will be asking a rifleman for ammoz.
