It's currently very much a beta at this point. If it were a call for testers, that would be good, but just extensive advertisement of Empires? I think that should be saved at least until aircraft are working properly.

Its good that people are keen to advertise the mod , however i think the dumpster fox is right.

Right now there is quite alot of imbalance in the game and not all the features have been implimented , it also runs badly on even the best of machines. Attracting people to the mod at this point might give it a bad reputation for being buggy and having un balanced elements.

The germans like the mod because we have Space Nazis. But yeah I agree, I think we should wait till we get some features in.

Yea, i think we should set up a 'n00b' mode for the public and a 'Know how to play' mode for us.

The lag of the first versions drove most of the players away.

I think we should wait until aircraft are working great before there is any "pimping" of the mod.

This has been discussed before, the general consensus is what Dee said-- the mod needs more work before it should be advertised and the issues with the very first public release drove alot of players away. It's got solid gameplay and I'm sure as long as this improves, people will play it once someone decides to spread the word. As for right now, I will remain ambivalent about the issue for the above reasons.

    Edit:
Nope. nope, nope. Changed my mind. I'm sick and FUCKING TIRED of not being able to play empires because I can't find anyone to play with. I don't give a rat's ass if the game's unpolished. I want to play an unpolished game rather than not play a game at all, and to do that, I need to get more people to learn about Empires.

If the mod is good people will find it , trust me!

The problem with this mod is that you need to understand it before you can enjoy it.
It's not just running and killing.

Considering that flags maps are the majority in DoD and BF1942 etc. I wouldn't go around flagging them as noob mode for empires(pun intended). Besides they are refreshing change to the "rush for res and get arty before they do" gameplay Empires is sporting nowadays. For those who don't know I waited for Empires for over a year(I did the same with NS when first news of Natural-Selection popped up). NS too had lag issues in the beginning, but what really killed it IMO was overbalancing.

WTF? Never heard that word before. How can something be too balanced? Or it can also be too well made, or too good to play? lol

It means that after several balancing iterations the balance of the gameplay has shifted further from actual gameplay balance than what it was in the first place.
In short: If you balance something too much, balancing turns against you.

They did balance it alot... It became more "noob firendly" along with combat... personaly I still blame it on combat... Hope they WONT try making that again.
