[PIC] Jeep extensibility

With alot of talk on making the jeeps more useful being done in another thread I've decided to make a little mock-up of a possible build dialog.

Keep in mind I made no attempt to make it resemble the current one, I made it just to show the "plug things in" part.



This most likely isn't very balanced as having turbo and ML turrent could possible wreak havoc on other vehicles.

And having a radar jammer may not be a great idea as scouts have a skill that does this, but it does take up two slots instead of only one that a scout would take.

Having a radar or possibly a camera would be good for defending groups of tanks moving towards the enemy base.

Etc, etc, suddenly jeeps seem alot more useful.

 

i like the idea of having to choose between a seat and a turret... that seems very interesting, but the problem with that is i can't imagine anyone ever choosing seat... plus, the NF jeep has 4 seats...

 

The BE and NF would both ahve 4 seats.

So, this would mean we'd have some variable attachment models to the jeep. Is this possible, and if not, why not and is there a way around it?

 

We could make the BE seats cost twice as much as NF's to continue with the inbalance.

 

What the fuck is a turrent

I do like this idea a lot. I kinda wish the seat was compulsary unless you have a turret (I assume is manable?) for people to get in, because if there's only one person ever going to able to use the vehicle, it's not much fun, or anywhere nearly as useful as having seats. One of the best things about the jeep is that if you do come across someone that needs a ride, you can provide that ride

Also:

I would make Turrets be manned (ie not automatic) take up 3 spaces in an L shape but INCLUDE the seat so the other person can still fit in to use it.

Also: Turbo should be two boxes.

But I think this idea is great overall. Very nice suggestion

As for the extra seat being compulsory: not entirley sure. I could be persuaded both ways. Does a Jeep with Ammo/Health/Radar sound a bit too good?

 

Yup, not just the voice in the game, but alot of players have started calling it turrents as well.

I think the turre(n)ts should be manned as well.

I'm sure the game designers will be able to balance things out, like making the radar take two slots.

 

I really like this idea, but the seats have to be default and they should be free (base price)

 

People have butchered the word turret since TF.

 

honestly arklansman, i'd like to see a level 1 mg with a level 1 ml on top/inside of it, all of which was stored inside a deployable level three.

I'll call them.... turrenduckens.

 

i say this is a good idea i like the idea of having health,ammo and turrets but the rest im not so sure

I love thnis idea, it makes jeeps into a very versatile vehicle.

 

If the Jeep was made into an anti-air vehicle than there will be a nice paper-scizzors-rock thing going on, Tanks beat Jeeps, Jeeps beat Air, Air beats tanks.

 

DonMegel made NF jeep models with ammo crates, turrets, etc. It's here. The pictures are gone though.
