[Particle and naming change]Calculator dispenses Nano-robots instead of weld-sparks

    Change the Calculator from a welder,

    that welds people and buildings until they are feeling fine , :pathetic:

    to a Nano-robot-tool, that sends like Nano-robots into hurt people

    and guides nano-robots to transform a unbuild building into a build one. :D



    change the particles to look more like very very tiny robots instead of an arc,

    somewhat like the healing animation in TF2.


    change the sound of the calculator to something that fits to nano-robots,

    maybe some bee-like vuvuzella sound.


    PRO: way less retarded game-mechanic than its now




    CON: never change a feature just because it does NOT MAKE SENCE

    ok ok.. nano bots are tiny.. so how can u tell that ur calcutor is spewing nano bots? lol

    on topic: Think Supreme Commander or rather the version of the game before that, I have the damn game too just can't remember its name. When the commander or the bots build or reclaim things, you see bits and peaces spew from the nano bot emitters.

    Here are the alternatives.
    Sparks - Doesn't fit the lore, cheap, visually obvious, looks decent enough
    Nanobots/Biojuice - Fits the lore, probly expensive, looks like jizz.

    Why does it have to look like jizz? Whats wrong with smoke that sparkles a little that goes in the direction your aiming? Oic the bio part of the lore... hmm... no wait... well instead of nano bots we could say that they are getting "misted".

    Nanobots and bio material would look goopy.
    No point making nanobots that glow, waste of electricity.

    well no, come on... its not realty we are worried about on this one. It just doesn't make sense for the animation. Like when a nuke explodes you don't expect to see dolphins shooting in all directions, its just a wtf moment. If we changed the troop models to be fully metal plate armored combat units, the welding would make sense.

    Side note, make a nuke explosion with dolphins that shoot out and put it in SVN for UBER lolz.

    2 seperate animation? 1 for building/tanks and the other for humans.

    for buildings and tanks: same
    for humans: use the bio ML animation with the green mist.

    At least u understand my point. Most of us know the lore, but nobody ever complains that empires the lore and empires the game are two totally different things. I think, for new players, it would only be good if the things that people do on the field would look like the things they do.

    Well imagination is where it is at where for the calculator on BE you imagine it's feeding nanobots to the soldiers wounds and for NF you can imagine that it gives like steroids or stimulants to their genes so they work harder to repair blah blah blah. Plus the NF calculator has this thing plugged into it that reads "Bio-M" or something like that, something to show the Empires lore in game.

    Maybe make it sort of like the medic beam in TF2, except add a bunch of noise (visual noise as in texture) and make it sparkly.

    lol wtf? is this really an issue? I mean seriously who gives a fuck, I think a welding arc is the most self explanatory at a glance thing there is for whats going on.

    Can I jiz on you? You look like your hp bar is almost empty. Its good for you, lots of yummy stuff to give you energy and it fills those bloody holes in you.

    After reading some other peoples posts, if it was to have 2 separate animations, we could have a needle on the end of the engy tool or something and when he heals someone, he sticks the needle in and presses a button until youre done healing. As for vehicles and buildings, just keep it as the welder.
